Changelog

Every DoubleMemory release, newest first, merged from the Mac and the iPhone and iPad version histories on the App Store. Most versions ship on both; the ones that shipped on only one platform say so. Where the two landed a day or so apart, the earlier date is shown. The newsletter tells the longer story behind many of them.

DoubleMemory 3

3.0.0 · September 24, 2026

  • Listen. Turn saved articles into something to listen to: Apple Intelligence adapts them for the ear, then reads your queue aloud on supported devices.
  • Siri and Shortcuts. Save, search, listen and ask about your collection.
  • List view and reader mode. Browse the new list view, switch to the visual grid, or focus on one article in reader mode.
  • A redesigned capture sheet for sharing links, text and images, and an easier way to edit saved details.
  • Double ⇧ on the Mac. Press Shift twice to save selected text, alongside the familiar double ⌘C.
  • A new guided tour for getting started, and clearer upgrade options.
  • Smoother selection and scrolling, more reliable saving, and search that remembers where you left off.

DoubleMemory 2

2.1.1 · June 13, 2026

  • Copy, Share and Delete are grouped together in an item's actions, for faster access.
  • Quicker sharing and more reliable capture.

2.1.0 · June 1, 2026

  • Image items. Save screenshots, photos and visual references alongside links and text. DoubleMemory reads the text inside an image, so it comes back in search and helps Auto Tags file it.
  • An improved quick-add menu: Last Screenshot and Insert Clipboard save an image without interrupting what you're doing.
  • Stability and reliability across saving, syncing and everyday browsing.

Covered in the newsletter: Photographic memory arrives in DoubleMemory, with a recap of everything DoubleMemory 2 changed.

2.0.4 · February 12, 2026

  • Localized for more countries, with prices adjusted for purchasing power.
  • Otherwise the same notes as 2.0.3.

2.0.3 · February 2, 2026

  • Minimum mode. A focused masonry layout for text and links. Toggle it with the sparkles icon.
  • Auto Tags now run as soon as a new save's metadata loads, so new saves organize themselves.
  • Tag pills have a quieter, neutral style, and switching layouts animates smoothly.
  • An even faster grid, with instant rendering and smoother scrolling on Mac and iOS.
  • Reordering saved searches shows a clear placeholder where the search will land.
  • Fixes for dragging items and for sync.

2.0.2 · January 27, 2026

  • Auto Tags launch. Tags generate automatically after a save's metadata loads, with better availability checks and no duplicate tags.
  • A rewritten grid. Faster scrolling, pagination, prefetching and layout updates on iPhone, iPad and Mac.
  • Saved searches can be dragged to reorder, and tag actions such as Clear All Tags are quicker to reach.
  • Spotlight search moved to Core Spotlight's user queries, with fewer reloads, and fixes for SwiftData crashes and for launches that took too long.

2.0.0 · January 26, 2026

DoubleMemory 2.0.

  • Auto Tags. Saved items are tagged automatically from their content.
  • Faster search and smoother interactions.
  • Bug fixes.

DoubleMemory 1

1.4.6 · November 20, 2025

  • iPhone and iPad: text that contains a link can become a link item, with short links resolved to their final address.
  • iPhone and iPad: a new app icon, ready for Liquid Glass.
  • Nothing new on the Mac this time, apart from the Black Friday deals.

Covered in the newsletter: DoubleMemory Nov Updates + Cyberweek 2025 Deals, a recap of the 1.4 releases.

1.4.4 and 1.4.5 · October 14 and 20, 2025

Follow-ups to 1.4.3 with the same notes. They also point out that the Safari Reading List import is in Settings on the Mac, and that the Double Capture settings from 1.4.1 let you ignore apps and set the spacing between two copies.

1.4.3 · October 9, 2025

  • Search matches tags. Searching "automation" also finds items tagged #automation, not only items with the word in their text.
  • Mac: select several items to tag them together, drag them into other apps, or archive, unarchive or delete them in one go.
  • Mac: import your Safari Reading List or bookmarks.

1.4.2 · September 30, 2025 · Mac

  • Fixed a performance problem that could freeze the app while selecting and scrolling with a trackpad.

1.4.1 · September 27, 2025

  • Capture controls. A spacing threshold so apps that copy twice on their own, such as Excel, Word and Arc, don't count as a double copy, plus a list of ignored apps.
  • iPhone and iPad: drag the floating pill to dock it at the top or bottom; it moves out of the way of what you're reading.
  • Mac: a redesigned Saved Search popover you can drag from to tag items, without it covering your content.
  • Sort By has an ascending and descending picker, on the Mac and iOS.
  • Mac: hiding the Dock icon no longer closes search or changes the window level, and clicking the Dock icon only shows the window, which ends the flicker with Stage Manager.
  • Mac: a new option to hide the window when it loses focus, the way Spotlight does, when the Dock icon is hidden.
  • Mac: search gets a refreshed Liquid Glass look.
  • iPhone and iPad: a new search cloud view.
  • Fixed: long-pressing a saved-search pill to delete it works again on iOS 26.

1.4.0 · September 16, 2025 · iPhone and iPad

  • Liquid Glass design, with a redesigned item swiper and bottom bar in the detail view.

  • Saved search and the search field are faster and steadier, and no longer crash on rapid taps or typing.

1.3.0 · September 4, 2025

Covered in the newsletter: Saved Search is here + what's next for DoubleMemory.

1.1.13 · June 24, 2025

  • iPhone and iPad: no notable changes.

1.1.12 · June 11, 2025

  • Shortcuts. Add to DoubleMemory and Find in DoubleMemory actions, on Mac, iPhone and iPad.
  • iPhone and iPad: better tips for reader mode, and sharing from Apple News and Flipboard works again.
  • Mac: the subscription view can be dismissed.

Covered in the newsletter: Pocket Shutdown, WWDC, and What's New and What's Next for DoubleMemory, which also shows how to save the clipboard with a double tap on the back of an iPhone.

1.1.11 · June 3, 2025 · Mac

  • Opening DoubleMemory with the menu bar shortcut puts the cursor in the search field, and ⌘F does the same instead of toggling the filters.
  • Moving between items with the keyboard keeps the selected item centered.
  • Clicking an item focuses it right away, without a delay.
  • The tags field keeps focus after you add a tag, so you can add several in a row.
  • A Help window and a new About window.
  • Fixed: Save All Changes didn't work with double capture turned on.

Several of these came straight from the Discord.

Covered in the newsletter: What's new in March for DoubleMemory.

1.1.5 and 1.1.6 · February 23 and 24, 2025 · Mac

  • More ways to save beyond double ⌘C: the share sheet, Keep in DoubleMemory in the Services menu, and drag and drop onto the Dock icon, the menu bar icon or the app itself. See Extension-free bookmarking.
  • Drag items out of DoubleMemory into other apps.
  • Cards resize to fit smaller windows, and the window stays where you put it instead of re-centering.
  • A purple accent color that works in light and dark mode, and a menu bar icon that shows up on light menu bars.
